ABSTRACT
Papillary carcinomas are the most frequent thyroid tumors. We report a cytogenetic study of two cases of epithelial thyroid carcinoma of the papillary type using GTG banding techniques. The modal number was 46 chromosomes in both cases. No structural alteration was detected. Numerical alterations were present in a random manner, probably due to the instability of the neoplastic tissue.
Keywords: Chromosome alterations; thyroid papillary; adenocarcinoma.
