ABSTRACT
Two different karyotypes of Trichomys apereoides (2n - 30, FN - 54 and 2n - 26, FN - 48) are described, using GTG-, CBG-, RBG-banding and silver staining techniques. A comparative G-banding pattern analysis between the karyomorphs suggested that they represent two different species.
Keywords: Cytogenetic; Trichomys apereoides; Rodentia.
